Start Usage Meter for macOS Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

What information do we collect?
Start Usage Meter and Dwight Dickinson do not collect, store, or otherwise transmit any data you input, nor does the app transmit anything from your computer to our servers. The only required information is your Start Usage Key, which is locally stored on your device and used to directly get the data and information from Start.ca's official server and website. We do not handle any data on our servers, all inputted data is sent directly to the Start.ca server and returned directly to your machine. We recommend viewing Start.ca's privacy policy for more information on how they handle your data.

What do we use your information for?
Your usage key is sent directly to the Start.ca server (not our server) in order to retrieve usage information for your account. Your data is never sent to (or collected by) us. Your usage cap and other preferences are stored directly on your Mac and are never transmitted to any server. Your usage key is sent to Start.ca, and you should review Start.ca's privacy policy for more information.

How do we protect your information?
No information is ever collected and sent to us, so there is simply no information to protect. We strongly believe in users privacy, so we make sure that we do not collect any information at all (we don't collect personally identifiable information, nor do we collect any non-personally identifiable information).

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
Your usage key on the Start Usage Meter app is sent directly to your ISP (Start.ca) to gather the necessary data information. It is NEVER shared with a third party outside of Start.ca and it is never stored off your device for whatever reason. All caching is handled locally on your device.
